WBTS Camera (v.75) Feature Showcase!
The Controls are open! The numbers are up and ready to be played with! Be sure to work with all the values, find the best ones, then post them here for us to test out.
The Camera Control variables and definitions are as follows:
Inside Edge Border - Number represents when the mouse cursor will begin moving at the first speed
Middle Edge Border - Number represents when the mouse cursor will begin moving at the second speed
Camera Field of View - Think of this as the amount of perspective displayed in game (Low numbers represent orthographic, while high numbers create forced perspective)
Speed: Zoom Up/Down - How fast middle mouse roll effects the camera speed
Speed: Inside Border – Speed of movement for the inside edge border area
Speed: Outside Border - Speed of movement for the middle edge border area
Speed: Middle Mouse Button - Speed of movement for the middle mouse click/hold option
Speed: Keyboard Movement - Speed of movement based on keyboard controls (currently angle goes twice as fast, will be fixed in next release)
Speed: Keyboard Rotation – Speed of movement for rotation around point
Camera Height Minimum - How close to the ground camera can go
Camera Height Maximum - How high up the camera can go
Reset - Resets all values back to default
Pause Border - Stops checking for border movement and allows you to ‘safely’ mouse somewhere else
Spacebar - Toggles GUI. If you press the Spacebar all the hud items will disappear. Press again and they come back.
If you have any questions, comments or happy thoughts, feel free to post them here or email us.
Don’t forget, next week will complete our first solid take on the WBTS Camera System version 1.0. Also, since this is our first Feature Showcase, we will keep it open for feedback and user input for quite a while (No actual date, yet).
Along with the final numbers, we have the following additions to put in next week:
1. Camera Follow (Quickly select a unit and let the camera follow him)
2. Camera Bookmarks (Set positions in game for quick camera jumps)
3. Camera Shakes (Shake camera within an explosion radius)
4. Camera Minimap (First pass on minimap for camera)
5. Camera Height Jumps (Quickly zoom camera up/down three levels)
